All about Herts Pilates

'In ten sessions you'll feel the difference, in twenty, you'll see the difference & in thirty you'll have a new body' Joseph Pilates

The technique was founded by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. Pilates
exercises all the muscle groups in your body and challenges the weak and
strong areas to give you a more balanced body. The exercises help to
stretch the muscles and make them a longer and leaner shape. It is a non
competitive form of exercises that helps to strengthen your back and
stomach muscles, helps improve posture and balance, improves your
concentration and flexibility, helps you to relax and is good fun!
Pilates is practised by many sports teams today and celebrities
including Courtney Cox, Julia Roberts, and Madonna who even claimed it is the
only way to exercise!

Pilates is beneficial for:

- General fitness and well being
- Injury prevention
- Young and old
- Remedial and rehabilitation work
- Pregancy- pre and post natal
- Fitness fanatics and complete novices
- A complement to other forms of exercise
- Feeling better about youself!

Pilates helps to:

- Increase strength- espcially in the tummy and back muscles
- Improve co-ordination and flexibility
- Better posture- for a longer, leaner look
- Release stress and give you more energy!

If you're ready to get involved, you can join a class by contacting Claire on 07745 227 505 or claire@hertspilates.co.uk.  Look forward to feeling great.

the pilates ball
The pilates ball opens up a whole new set of exercises.  Once you've mastered pilates' basic floor exercises, you'll be introduced to The Ball.  Don't be scared though, it's great fun and is fab for helping tone tummies after the indulgence of the weekend.  The picture above isn't a pilates ball however, it's bubble gum.
