Hi, I'm Claire. I first discovered Pilates 18 years ago whilst studying for my BA Hons degree in dance. Since then I've trained and qualified with STOTT Pilates and Pilates institute. I specialise in matwork pilates using small equipment such as bands, pilates circles, toning balls and swiss balls. I also specialise in injuries (post rehab- referred from eg physiotherapist/osteopath) and special populations pilates eg ante natal pilates (all studied with STOTT Pilates) As well as pilates I am also qualified to teach Zumba, which is my other passion,( www.hertsfitness.co.uk for class info) , aerobics, aqua, Boxercise and fitness yoga.
Over the years, I have taught at local gyms including Cannons, Esporta, Westminster Lodge, Dacorum Sports Centre and Harpenden Sports Centre. I decided to set up Herts Pilates in 1993 since my true passion is Pilates (due to my dance background and keen participation in sport), and I wanted to be able to minimise class sizes to maximise benefit for students.
I teach a range of classes and one-to-one sessions throughout the week, from beginners and improvers, to intermediate, pregnancy and postnatal Pilates.
Herts Pilates has a number of other, qualified pilates instructors running classes:

I’ve been in the fitness industry for 12 years, where I started with exercise to music, and a 1st class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science. Then I took my NASM level 3 personal trainer award which led my interest to a more holistic and core based exercise specialist; I have been teaching Pilates for about 7years. I am also a qualified Osteopath. I teach improvers and intermediate classes at Herts Pilates

I have always been interested in the body and how it moves, having studied both Sport and Exercise Science and Bsc Hons Physiotherapy .I qualified as an instructor with the Body Control Association of Pilates. I am a keen runner and have found Pilates has helped me regain more flexibility, prevented injuries and enhanced my running performance. I teach beginners and improvers classes at Herts Pilates. (maternity leave at present)
We know know through experience that students attend Pilates classes to achieve their own, individual goals. We work hard to ensure that everyone attending classes receives the attention they need to reach their personal goals. Many of the students had no prior experience of Pilates so if you're new to it, don't worry, we'll be gentle with you! During the classes, we try to gain a balance of hard work and fun, and all classes are kept small 8-14 absolute max. It seems to work since students continue to come back week after week.If you're ready to get involved, you can join a Herts Pilates class by contacting Claire via our contact form or claire@hertspilates.co.uk
Classes cost £9 per class, paid in a block of 6,
7 or 8 weeks, dependent on term times.
